Problem with root password for vSphere

Hello,

I need some advice on what to do next and what my options are for this particular problem.

Windows 2003 Network with two Domain Controllers. Multiple ESXs across six Fiber Attached Storage units. DC 1 and 2 are on individual ESXs.

During weekly reboots of our overall system our on duty techs shutdown the VM's vice restarting them. Needing to get back into the vSphere Center to give start up commands for the Domain Controllers they found that the root password for the vSphere Infrastructure Client account was lost due to recent turn over of administrators for the network. Are there any options we can take to start these VM's up another way? Can we login into the ESX via the ESXi and start the VM's up from there? Is there a way to reset the password for the vSphere Infrastructure Client without a reinstall of the client (which is what my research up to this point has found)? Are there any other options we have not considered. Thank you very much for any advice that can be given. If I am using the wrong terminology and there is some loss of communication please let me know and I will explain it as best I can.
