I am going to move an old iSCSI SAN that is configured on a vSphere 4.1 system to a new vSphere 6.0 and use it for backups.
The old iSCSI SAN controllers are set up with the IPs in a 172.16.0.1/24.
We are short on 10g ports on the vSphere 6 system and want to use the vMotion connection that is in VLAN 40 on 192.168.10.1/24 for the iSCSI SAN setup.
We do not have DRS enabled and vMotion is being used as needed.
Is it possible to set this up – that is,,, set up a second vkernel on the vMotion switch in a different network / VLAN?
Would this cause issues when backups run at 2 AM if for some reason a vMotion task was initiated?
